LaKresha Roberts joins race for Delaware Attorney General

LaKresha Roberts

LaKresha Roberts has resigned her position as Delaware’s chief deputy attorney general so she can campaign for the top job.

Roberts is joining a crowded field that already includes Democrats Kathy Jennings and Tim Mullaney. Republican Tom Neuberger is also considering a run.

As chief deputy attorney general, Roberts helped develop the Delaware DOJ needs assessment on treating people with opioid addictions.

Before that, she headed the Family Division and prosecuted cases involving domestic violence, child protection, child support and juvenile delinquency.

She currently serves on the board of trustees for Christiana Care and on the Food Bank of Delaware board.

Current AG Matt Denn announced last August he would not seek re-election.
