As expected, three of Delaware’s top Democrats have endorsed Hillary Clinton as she draws closer to winning the party’s nomination for president.
State party chair John Daniello, vice-chair Lisa Goodman and national committeewoman Karen Valentine committed their super delegate votes Wednesday morning.
In a statement, Daniello urged supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to unify behind Clinton as soon as possible.
He said, “Winning the White House in November should be our most important goal, and the idea of a ‘President Trump’ should terrify all of us.”
The former secretary of state easily cruised by Sanders in Delaware’s April primary by 10 points, with its 31 delegates split proportionately between the two.
Both committed and super delegates will cast their votes officially at the party’s national convention in Philadelphia this July.
