A fire at the Delaware City Refinery injures two workers.
The fire started around 1:40 Wednesday afternoon according to refinery officials.
In-house firefighters responded immediately and quickly contained the fire, bringing it under control.
The News Journal reports the workers were critically injured and flown to Christiana Hospital.
The refinery says all other the employees and contractors have been accounted for without any injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Delaware City Refinery experienced another fire early last year as a result of an inadequately winterized pipe.
Regulators said that fire lasted nearly 13 hours and was followed by an even longer flaring event. The entire episode released more than three tons of combined air pollutants.
The refinery settled with the state early this year to resolve those and other permit violations — to the tune of $70,000.
