Wilmington University’s baseball team’s first trip to the NCAA Division II College World Series is over.
The Wildcats were eliminated from the eight-team, national championship tournament in North Carolina with Monday’s 5-0 to Angelo State in a losers’ bracket contest.
Wilmington had two runners on in three separate innings, but failed to score a run. The Wildcats also hurt their own cause, committing four errors that led to three unearned Angelo State runs.
Wilmington finishes its season at 37-15 and loses 13 seniors.
